THE HOMES
The hill top homes have stunning Pacific Sea views in all directions. South facing, you can enjoy incredible sunrises and sunsets from the ample outdoor living spaces, and through all the glass doors which frame the views. A highlight of the vista is the splashes from a blow hole located on Morilla Beach bellow, only an 8 minute walk away.
The main home is elevated of 4 foot stilts, allowing air to flow freely underneath which keeps the interior dry and mold free- important in the tropics! There is a double roof to increase insulation and the exterior has been clad in half inch Nispero siding. The floors are thick slats of Caoba ( Mahogany) offering a sturdiness you notice under your feet as you enter the home. The quality of these exotic woods soften the clean industrial design. The home has 2 bedrooms, each with their own full bathrooms and there is an open concept floor plan in the kitchen, dining and living room space. Extra storage can be found near the entrance where there is also a 3rd bathroom. The wrap around veranda is covered and feels like the soul of the home, where a family might ritually sit together to enjoy the sunset or watch the electrical storms pass by. The deck has the most pronounced views of any of the homes on the property. Thanks to the simple and modern design the home feels airy and fresh, the perfect canvas to highlight you own style.
The second home is 2 stories with a master suite on the top floor and a second bedroom on the ground floor with a kitchen and dining room, a shower room, and a toilet room ( in true French form). The living has two large built in day beds, and can be separated from the dining and kitchen but curtains, should a renter need extra beds. Both upstairs and downstairs find large covered patios and plenty of windows with imposing sea views. The downstairs bedroom faces west over the third building, but the roof of which is level with the ground and does not disturb views at all.
The third space is an earth-bermed design with a bachelor style lay out. The double roof keeps the space insulated from the heat, as well the earth its nestled within. For a bachelor suite, it is spacious, with a king sized bed, a kitchenette and a full bathroom, all lovingly decorated in an art nouveau style.
2 HOMES AND A CABANA WITH EPIC PACIFIC VIEWS
All perched on a hilltop admiring the sea from different vantage points, the homes all share a cool industrial loft feel, warmed by wood grains, spectacular art work and sea breezes.

THE LAND
The one hectare hill top has 360 views, located on the La Barra Uno peninsula, 3 out of 4 directions are facing the Pacific Sea. If you were to replicate the earth bermed rental unit in similar designs, you could build up to 3 more while not impacting the view by even an ounce. Another advantage of this property is the opportunity to add a hectare at an adjacent lower hill top, also with lovely views towards the island dotted coast to the South.
The walk to Morillo beach is 7 minutes on foot, from the front doors of the homes. The beach is also accessible by car, but 4x4 would be needed. While this beach is more for the surfing crowd, we spent almost an entire day lounging in a massive tidal pool and watching 20 foot splashes explode up from a rock blow hole. Through trails to the East there is access to another beach called La Barra, known to have calmer swimming conditions.
THE COMMUNITY
Torio a destination that balances natural beauty with new modern development efforts. Unlike more bustling tourist hubs, Torio retains a serene charm that appeals to visitors seeking a quieter retreat. Over recent years, the area has seen gradual improvements in infrastructure and accommodations aimed at enhancing the visitor experience while preserving its natural allure. These developments have included upgrades to local roads, utilities, and basic amenities, catering to a growing interest in eco-tourism, surfing and sustainable travel practices. Torio is 1.5 hours from Santiago, making it one of the closest Azuero coastal towns to the city, the views and the vibe are definitely worth the drive.
