THE COMMUNITY

The lagoons have a lifestyle of their own! The Tierra Oscura and Dolphin Bay lagoon system have a beautiful blend of local, indigenous and expat residents, who are all loving the off grid life style, calm waters, and coral reefs. There are two edges of the spectrum out this way, the off grid self sufficient lifestyle mixed with a wild social circle on certain days of the week when everyone meets at the local over the water restaurants. Other residents in the area include the inshore population of Dolphins, an incredible number of 3 and 2 toed sloths, howler monkeys and capuchins, plus an endless number of underwater creatures for you to admire. Paddling is a 365 day a year activity as the bays are glass like all year round.

A new road has been installed which connects the little town of Tierra Oscurra to the Almirante Highway. This development is breathing new advancements into the area and has provided the community with an emergency evacuation route.
