THE HOME

They don’t build homes like this anymore! The amount of material invested in this beachfront dream home is astounding. Massive 3×3 foot concrete pillars hold the home 6 feet above the earth.

Entering the great room you are immediately confronted by the vaulted ceilings and high windows, which indirectly allow the light of the tropical sun to illuminate the galley kitchen, and dining space. A ladder leads to a living room loft with porthole like windows for peaks of the sea. This loft space currently has 3 beds, as the home donated the accommodations to volunteers recording turtle nests and protecting the babies as they hatch and enter the sea. Under this loft is a cozy den for rainy day films.

Surrounding the grateroom are handmade rotating doors made of teak slats and screen to further invite the breeze. It is this beautiful element of the design that more than doubles the living space by opening it up to a covered, wrap around deck which faces the ocean head on. On this veranda is an outdoor dining area, hammocks and a comfortable seating space.

An 8 foot wide covered breezeway leads from the grateroom to the parallel master suite, where one can enjoy the same ocean views from a luxurious four post king sized bed. The Master suite is separated from the grateroom by a garden between, it has its own full bathroom and to the East of the bedroom a large private covered veranda.

There is a second bedroom and bathroom towards the enterance of the home, and on ground level a 2 car garage and washing/drying room.
